The Pincushion Project elevates a totally utilitarian item to an art form! In 2020, 8 different pincushion kits will be introduced, each one a collaboration between artist and designer and, ultimately, you. Each kit will be listed separately on this page beginning Winter 2020!
Keep the finished pincushions to use yourself or use as gifts. Prefer to display them? We’ll add a couple of posts to the Journal about how to artfully arrange and display the collection.
You can buy just one or two or all eight pincushions. Those purchasing all eight will receive a free gift!
In Winter 2020, we will be announcing details of our partnership with a local organization doing good works in our community. They will receive $2 from the sale of each kit.
Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when a new kit is introduced.
Each kit will include:
- Fabrics to complete one pincushion
- Beads, embroidery threads and/ or any other embellishments that may be required
- 100% cotton batting stuffing
- Detailed instructions for completing the pincushion
The fabric for the front of each pincushion will be designed by an artist and hand-printed in small batches. Then, we will embellish the design by layering on embroidery or applique. You can read more about the artist behind each kit as each one is introduced.
